PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy Duty
Diesel & Marine Motor Oil (AME) is a
premium diesel oil providing excellent
performance in all types of diesel
engines where highly effective control of
wear and deposits is vital. Built with
heavy-duty dispersant/detergent
additives, its 12 TBN chemistry
neutralizes acids and controls soot
thickening from EGR and blow-by to
protect against corrosion, cylinder bore
polishing (wear) and varnish/sludge
deposits. AMSOIL 15W-40 Diesel Oil
resists heat and breakdown better than
conventional petroleum oils for long
lasting performance and
protection.
AMSOIL,
the leader in automotive synthetic lubrication,
produced the world’s first API qualified
synthetic motor oil in 1972. Trust the
extensive experience of AMSOIL The First in
Synthetics ® to do the best job protecting your
engine.
Extends Drain
Intervals
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine
Motor Oil can extend drain intervals far beyond
those recommended for conventional petroleum
oils. Its unique synthetic formulation and
long-drain additive system deliver maximum
engine protection, cleanliness and performance
over extended drain intervals, reducing vehicle
maintenance and waste oil disposal
costs.
Advanced Soot and Wear Control
Formula
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine
Motor Oil is heavily fortified with
detergent/dispersant additives and is naturally
resistant to soot. It is designed to keep soot
particles suspended independently and prevent
them from attaching together to form larger,
wear-causing particles. Viscosity increase is
minimized and soot-related wear is
controlled.
Maximizes Fuel Economy,
Reduces Oil Consumption and
Emissions
AMSOIL Diesel & Marine Motor Oil has lower
volatility (evaporation) than con-ventional
petroleum oils. Because less oil vapor passes
into the combustion chamber, oil consumption
and emissions are reduced. Lower volatility
helps AMSOIL 15W-40 Diesel Oil retain its
viscosity after high-temperature service for
excellent fuel economy and continued dependable
protection.
Excellent Cold Flow
Properties
AMSOIL AME remains fluid down to -44°F. It
eases cold-weather starting and provides vital
start-up lubrication to prevent engine wear.
AMSOIL Synthetic Heavy Duty Diesel Oil
outperforms conventional 15W-40 petroleum oils
and greatly minimizes the impact of cold
weather operation.
APPLICATIONS
is engineered for use in a wide variety of
light and heavy-duty applications, including
over-the-road trucks, off-road construction,
marine engines, farm equipment, mining,
industrial (pumps & generators) and
personal automotive or commercial
transportation. It is excellent for use with
low- or high-sulfur diesel fuels in standard,
turbocharged or supercharged engines, including
modern low-emission diesels such as those
equipped with EGR systems.

PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL Series 3000 100%
Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil (HDD)
delivers extraordinary lubrication in both
diesel and gasoline engines found in
commercial, fleet and personal vehicles. By
combining the industry’s premier synthetic
technology with AMSOIL premium additives,
AMSOIL Series 3000 exceeds the higher
performance demands of modern engines. It
withstands the stress of higher heat, higher
acid levels and excessive soot-loading found in
EGR-equipped engines. AMSOIL Series 3000
Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil
consistently outperforms conventional and
synthetic diesel oils for long-lasting
performance and protection.
AMSOIL, the leader in
automotive synthetic lubrication, produced the
world’s first API qualified synthetic motor oil
in 1972. Trust the extensive experience of
AMSOIL The First in Synthetics® to do the best
job protecting your engine.
Extends Drain
Intervals
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty
Diesel Oil can extend drain intervals far
beyond those recommended for conventional oils.
Its unique synthetic formulation and long-drain
additive system deliver maximum engine
protection, cleanliness and performance over
extended drain intervals, reducing vehicle
maintenance and waste oil disposal
costs.
Maximizes Fuel
Economy
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil is
energy efficient for reduced fuel costs. Its
low viscosity minimizes “drag” associated with
high-viscosity oils, allowing the engine to
operate more freely, maximizing power and fuel
economy.
Maximum Protection
Against Engine Wear
Even under high temperatures and pressures,
AMSOIL Series 3000 Diesel Oil’s superior film
strength and anti-wear additives help prevent
metal-to-metal contact. AMSOIL Series 3000
reduces ring wear, cylinder bore polishing, oil
consumption and valve train wear for improved
engine life and lower maintenance
costs.
Controls Soot
Thickening and Wear
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil is
heavily fortified with detergent/dispersant
additives and is naturally resistant to soot.
It is designed to keep soot particles suspended
independently and prevent them from attaching
together to form larger, wear-causing
particles. Viscosity increase is minimized and
soot-related wear is controlled.
Reduces Oil
Consumption and Emissions
AMSOIL Series 3000 loses only 7.6% of its mass
to high-temperature volatility (evaporation) in
the NOACK test, outperforming all conventional
oils. Because less oil vapor passes into the
combustion chamber, oil consumption and
emissions are reduced. Additionally, lower
volatility helps AMSOIL 5W-30 Diesel Oil retain
its viscosity after high-temperature service
for continued dependable protection and
excellent fuel economy.
Excels in Extreme
Temperatures
AMSOIL Series 3000 Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty
Diesel Oil resists thermal (heat) breakdown,
oxidation and sludge formation better than
conventional oils. And unlike conventional
petroleum oils, AMSOIL HDD contains no wax. It
stays fluid down to -50°C (-58°F) for improved
cold-temperature oil flow, reduced bearing wear
and easier starting.
APPLICATIONS
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil is
recommended for diesel engines, gasoline
engines and other applications that require any
of the following worldwide
specifications:

AMSOIL, The First in Synthetics,® to do the
best job protecting your engine.
Exceeds Emission
System Requirements
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 Diesel Oil is a
low-sulfated ash formulation that exceeds the
requirements for low-emission quality diesel
oil. It is compatible with all exhaust
treatment devices and is designed to extend the
service life of diesel particulate fi lters
(DPF).
Extended Drain
Performance
AMSOIL Premium 5W-40 Diesel Oil can extend
drain intervals far beyond those recommended
for conventional petroleum oils. Its unique
synthetic formulation and long-drain additive
system (10.4 TBN) deliver superior engine
protection, cleanliness and performance over
extended drain intervals. AMSOIL Synthetic
5W-40 Diesel Oil provides
maximum protection for up to 3X the
OEM-recommended drain interval, even further
with oil analysis.
Improves Fuel
Economy
The advanced synthetic technology used to
engineer AMSOIL Premium 5W-40 Diesel Oil
enhances viscosity properties and is proven to
deliver better fuel economy. In fact, the
Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Federal
Test Procedure confi rms that AMSOIL 5W-40
Diesel Oil provides up to 3 percent better fuel
economy than conventional 15W-40 diesel oils.
At a mix of 55 percent city/45 percent highway
driving, the average improvement is 1.6 percent
and at straight highway driving the average
improvement is 1.25 percent.

Reduces Oil
Consumption and Emissions
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 Diesel Oil has lower
volatility (burn-off) than conventional
petroleum oils. Because less oil vapor passes
into the combustion chamber, oil consumption
and emissions are reduced. Lower volatility
helps AMSOIL Premium Diesel Oil retain its
viscosity after high-temperature service for
dependable protection and excellent fuel
economy.
Controls
Soot-Thickening and Wear
The advanced synthetic base oils in AMSOIL
5W-40 Diesel Oil are naturally resistant to
soot contamination. That, along with a heavy
fortification of detergent/dispersant
additives, keeps soot particles suspended
independently, helping prevent the formation of
larger wear-causing particles. Viscosity
increase is minimized and soot-related wear is
controlled.
APPLICATIONS

COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 Diesel Oil is compatible
with conventional and synthetic motor oils.
Mixing AMSOIL motor oils with other oils,
however, will shorten the oil life expectancy
and reduce the performance benefits. AMSOIL
does not support extended drain intervals where
oils have been mixed. Aftermarket oil additives
are not recommended for
use with AMSOIL motor oils.

Diesel Fuel Additves
(Cold Flow Improver,Diesel Recovery,Diesel
Fuel Additive, ect.)
AMSOIL's Synthetic Diesel Oils are
inherently more thermally stable than many diesel oils on
the market and have been shown to keep turbochargers
considerably cleaner than other brands of oil. While poor
quality engine oils have been shown to cause turbocharger
bearing seizure in under 100 hours during a "heat soak"
test.
Many diesel oils will survive the 100 hour "heat soak" test,
but..., with considerable deposits and incipient oil passage
blocking. If you use low quality diesel oils make sure you let
the engine idle for a few minutes after use to allow the engine
and turbocharger to cool. This does not eliminate deposit
formation but it can reduce it.
Take a look at the varnish deposits in this picture. These are
the results of a severe high temperature deposit test. This
test clearly shows that AMSOIL diesel oil keeps engines cleaner
longer than other major brands diesel oils. Which oil would you
rather have protecting your engine?
The bottom line: To prevent or eliminate turbocharger bearing
seizure, there is no substitute for a high quality synthetic
diesel oil (like AMSOIL's) as they have been have been proven
to maintain turbochargers in an almost "as fitted" condition
and significantly reduce deposit formation.
We are here to help you learn the
facts and show you how you can use AMSOIL and get a
superior product and also increase the performance and add to
the longevity of your Diesel plus save time and money. Diesel
trucks are excellent vehicles and exceptionally well
engineered. In our opinion they are one of the most advanced
vehicles ever produced, however there are ways to make the
performance and longevity even better with AMSOIL Synthetic
Lubricants.
Simply changing your diesel oil more
often with average quality oil will not give you all the
benefits that AMSOIL offers:
AMSOIL
has been in business since 1972 and was the first company in
the world to develop an API (Automotive Petroleum Institute)
rated synthetic lubricant for automotive applications. They
coined the phrase "extended drain intervals" 35 years ago and
have been on the leading edge of technology and innovation ever
since then. We have many satisfied customers using AMSOIL
products in both their commercial, trucking, fleet as well as
personal, family and recreational vehicles.
